Installation Method of Stone-Coated Metal Roof Tiles

I. Pre-construction Preparation
1. Base Requirements: The roof base shall be flat, dry and free of debris. Wooden or metal keels are recommended, with the keel spacing controlled at 600-800mm to ensure load-bearing stability.
2. Materials and Tools: Prepare stone-coated metal roof tiles, special waterproof gaskets, self-tapping screws, weather-resistant sealant, tape measure, cutting machine, electric drill, etc. Pre-arrange the tiles according to the roof size in advance and plan the cutting positions.
II. Formal Installation Steps
1. Line Snapping and Positioning: Snap horizontal reference lines from the roof eaves, then snap vertical reference lines along the roof slope to ensure the tiles are laid horizontally and vertically.
2. Eaves Tile Installation: Lay eaves tiles first at the eave position. Place waterproof gaskets under the tiles and fix them on the keels with self-tapping screws. The screw driving depth shall be ≥20mm, and the colored sand layer on the tile surface shall not be damaged.
3. Main Tile Installation: Lay the main tiles in the order of from bottom to top and from left to right. The horizontal overlap width shall be ≥50mm, and the vertical overlap width shall be ≥100mm. Each tile shall be fixed with at least 4 special screws, and the screw positions shall avoid the tile surface.
4. Joint Treatment
– Cover the roof ridge with ridge tiles, with the overlap width on both sides ≥150mm, and apply sealant at the joints.
– Install waterproof roll materials first at the gutters, internal and external corners, then lay the tiles, and compact and seal the overlapping parts of the roll materials.
III. Final Inspection
1. Check whether the tiles are firmly fixed without loosening or displacement; check whether the sealant at the joints is even without omissions.
2. Clean up the residual cutting debris and sundries on the roof to avoid scratching the tile coating.
