Installation Tips for Stone-Coated Metal Roof Tiles

1. Fixing & Damage Prevention Tips
Secure each main tile with at least 4 special self-tapping screws; use 6 screws for ridge tiles and eaves tiles to reinforce fixation. The screws shall be driven into the keel for more than 20mm, and the screw positions must avoid the colored sand layer on the tile surface to prevent coating damage and rusting.
2. Overlapping & Waterproofing Tips
Strictly control the horizontal overlap width to more than 50mm and the vertical overlap width to no less than 100mm. Apply weather-resistant sealant evenly at the overlapping joints. For rainy areas, an additional layer of waterproof and breathable membrane can be laid to enhance the waterproof effect.
3. Cutting & Rust Prevention Tips
Use a special cutting machine for on-site tile cutting. Apply anti-rust paint to the cut edges immediately after cutting to avoid oxidation. Minimize debris falling during cutting to prevent scratches on the surface of installed tiles.
4. Joint Treatment Tips
Ensure the overlap width on both sides of ridge tiles is ≥ 150mm, and fill the joints completely with sealant. Install waterproof rolls first at gutters, internal and external corners, then lay and fix the tiles on top. Compact the overlapping parts of the waterproof rolls to avoid hollowing.
5. Construction Protection Tips
Construction workers should wear non-slip soft-soled shoes to avoid stepping on the tile surface. Suspend construction in windy weather to prevent tiles from sliding off. Keep the roof clean throughout the installation process and clear debris in a timely manner to avoid affecting the sealing performance of the overlaps.
